  • The department aims at train students as secondary school teachers, and fisheries and industrial technology engineers. The department provide courses in five major areas: Marine Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Aquaculture, and Fishing Engineering.

Child Rearing in Industrial Society This course looks at modern society and child rearing. Topics to be covered in the course include contents and characteristics of cultures in the industrial society, formation of positive behavior, and the development of good relationship between parents and children.
Peace Education (Environmental analysis and Lab) This course is designed to deal with critical dilemmas and debates. Special topics included in the course are resolving conflict and wars, positive education for peaceful development of the world, the relationship between peace and religion within the context of education, fighting against the war for peace.
Introduction of Psychology This course aims to offer basic concepts and principles of psychology with reference to perception, learning, remembering, thinking, personality, social behavior, and psychopathology.
Child development and Education(Cell Biology) This course is designed to cover an understanding of principles of child developmental psychology and their application to the education of children.?
Introduction to Education This course is designed to cover basic concepts of education. Major topics covered in the course include the philosophical, psychological, and sociological foundations of education, the processes of teaching and learning basic principles of curriculum and instruction, counseling, educational evaluation, educational administration, and qualifications for the teaching profession.
Fisheries Science 1 This course aims to provide an introduction to basic concepts of fisheries in relation to fisheries business, the fishing gear, and the marine resources.
Fisheries Science 2 This course is designed to offer an introduction to basic theories and technology of fisheries in relation to aquatic products
Educational Sociology This course focuses on the social functions of education. Topics to be covered include human relations between teachers and students, the interrelationship between education and social development, the sociocultural background of education, social changes and education, social groups and education, school and community and social education.
Educational Psychology This course offers a survey of psychological theories in relation to the characteristics of intellectual and emotional development, covering educational environments, learning processes and adjustment
Educational Ethics This course is designed to provide basic principles governing the ethics in the profession. Topics to be covered include qualifications and personality as a secondary school teacher, modern society and education, awareness and professionalism of teaching, rights and duties of teachers, the personnel systems in education, and the ethics of teachers.
Educational Philosophy and History This course provides an introduction to basic concepts and theories of educational philosophy and history in relation to phenomena and activities of education.
Introduction to Youth and Adult Education This is an introductory course for philosophical, psychological and sociological foundations of youth and adult education. Special emphasis is given to the relationship between school education and youth and adult education, the objectives, contents, and methods of youth and adult education, various education programs, administration and governance of the program, and the training system of specialists in youth and adult education.
Methodology of Youth and Adult Education This course aims at examining characteristics of youth and adult education programs in Korea. Topics to be covered in the course include principles of adult learning, teaching methods for youth and adult education, the development of youth and adult education programs, and the evaluation and feedback methods.
Curriculum and Evaluation This course is designed to provide students with basic concepts and organization principles of school curricula. In addition theoretical and practical basis of evaluation and applications of educational statistics to field work will be covered.
Educational Method and Technology This course offers principles and techniques of education administration and management. Topics covered in the course include basic concepts of educational administration, organizational behavior in education, and administrative organizations in education. Students will look at characteristics of school as an organization and acquire communication skills necessary for the profession. Other areas to investigate in the course are tasks and processes of educational administration, the national education system, and the Classroom management techniques.
Shipboard Teaching Practice This course is designed to provide students with teaching practice and field study on shipboard, in the areas of fisheries technology, aquaculture, food processing, marine engine and refrigeration.
Practicum in Youth and Adult Education This course is required for those who seek for a social education specialist certification. The requirement for the course includes four weeks of field practice of knowledge and skills in youth and adult education. The students must complete their internship at social education institutes during the vacations.
Human Resource Development This course provides fundamental concepts and the role of HRD including job performance and performance problems. Detailed topics include praxionomy of human behavior, development of industrial education program, training needs assessment, job analysis, the evaluation of the training program, and the cost-benefit analysis of HRD
Life-long Education This course aims at developing the society and human educationwith the emphasis on liberal arts and social education and education of liberal arts and social services. Students can pursue their career education.
Teaching Practice This course is designed to train students through the actual observations and participation in actual teaching in a school setting as student teachers.

Molecular Biology and Lab (122042. 3. 3) This course is designed to have students familiarize themselves with gene cloning, screening, characteristics of restriction enzymes, selection of host bacteria with many realistic examples. The course will also cover special concepts of genetic engineering applied to industry.

Theories of Subject Education in Refrigeration The above five courses deal with the goals, contents, methods and evaluation of fisheries education in the respective areas.
School Guidance Concepts and basic principles of guidance, counseling, and treatment of emotionally and socially maladjusted students in the home, school and community, educational and vocational guidance.
Thesis Research This is a research course of one's chosen field. Students are required to submit a thesis in order to complete the course work requirement.
